The Senjogahara Marshland (戦場ヶ原, Senjōgahara) is an area of four square kilometers north of Lake Chuzenji popular as a hiking spot. The flats of the marshland, which are 1,400 meters above sea level, have raised wooden paths making walking easy and allowing visitors to take in the unique surroundings. The walking trails are especially popular in autumn when the trees on the surrounding hills and mountains turn yellow and red.
