Koenji Festival

Koenji Fest, held annually on the last weekend of October, is a massive community-driven celebration that transforms Tokyo’s bohemian hub into an open-air stage. Unlike the massive summer Awa Odori, this autumn event focuses on local culture, featuring over 20 simultaneous attractions.

Key highlights include:

• Station-Front Pro Wrestling: Live matches held in a special ring at the North Exit of Koenji Station.
• Yokai Parade: Over 200 performers dressed as traditional Japanese monsters march along Look Shopping Street.
• Gourmet Events: The famous Curry Battle allows visitors to sample diverse recipes and vote for a champion.
• Shopping & Music: Around 250 local shops offer unique bargains and “stamp rallies,” while live music fills the streets.
