Uramigataki Hot Spring (裏見ヶ滝温泉) is arguably the most picturesque onsen on Hachijojima, characterized by its stunning jungle setting and the fact that it is entirely free to the public. The facility features a single, stone-lined outdoor bath into which a stream of natural spring water flows from a rock waterfall. Perched approximately 20 meters above a small stream and dense subtropical vegetation, the bath provides a serene environment focused on the natural beauty and sounds of the nearby Uramigataki Waterfall.

As this is a mixed-gender bath, visitors are required to wear swimming attire, allowing groups and families to bathe together. A single, rustic changing room is provided on-site. Although the requirement for swimwear differs from traditional indoor onsen, the aesthetic design and the secluded, forest-path location offer a unique and peaceful experience. Due to its distance from the main town, bathers often find themselves enjoying the tranquil waters in complete solitude.
